Whether you’re a first-time caravanner or a seasoned veteran, it can be tricky to find the right caravan parks in Spain, especially during the winter.
Here we look at the best places to visit to escape the cold and gloomy winter months in the UK.
Best Spanish caravan spots for a winter getaway:
Malaga Monte Parc Holiday Village, Costa del Sol
Malaga Monte Parc is an all-in-one village meaning you never have to leave the area to enjoy the warm weather and stunning mountains. If you do fancy a trip into Malaga you are just 15 miles from the town centre.
Each caravan plot has an individual patio, water and electricity points and a swimming pool that’s accessible all year round. There’s also an on-site bar that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Cambrils Park, Costa Dorada
If you’re looking for somewhere to get away on holiday as a family, then Cambrils caravan park in Spain is the perfect option for you. The site includes a giant swimming pool with slides, clubs for kids to enjoy, a gym, mini golf, a spa and it even has a splash park. It’s basically the Spanish Center Parcs, what’s more, it’s only a 10-minute walk from the beach.
When travelling by caravan, you’ll need to get the ferry to Bilbao before a five-hour drive, but the scenery alone is worth the trip.
If the site still doesn’t have enough for your family to do, you’re only a 15-minute drive from PortAventura World, one of Europe’s largest attractions, with three theme parks.
Camping La Torreta, Benidorm
If you’re looking for a caravan park in Benidorm, then La Torreta is the best option for those travelling from the UK. The site is right next to the Benidorm Palace and around a 10-minute walk from Benidorm Levante beach, which includes all the bars and restaurants, so you can eat and drink to your heart’s content.
It also has a large outdoor swimming pool, small supermarket on site, dog walking areas and fibre optic wi-fi.
Sanguli Salou, Costa Dorada
Whilst the Costa del Sol and Costa Verde are the more infamous locations among Brits, Costa Dorada is by far the warmest destination.
The Sanguli campsite has four outdoor ‘swimming pool complexes’, each of which has a different theme. You can try out the ‘Relax Pool’ for a quieter time or the Fiesta Pool which has a family pool, a waterside bar and three waterslides. The Africa Pool is a nice novelty, with models of safari animals.
Perhaps the biggest appeal is that the sandy beach is only a two-minute walk from the park entrance. It’s not quite on the beach, but it’s pretty close.
Playa Joyel, Costa Verde
If you want a shorter trip to a warmer climate, then Playa Joyel in Costa Verde in northern Spain may be perfect for you.
You can visit this beautiful place by getting the ferry from Portsmouth to Santander, before a 40-minute drive once you reach our European counterparts.
It has access to a sandy beach, a swimming pool and various sports facilities including football pitches and basketball courts.
Alannia Costa Blanca
Alannia has a few sites in Spain, which used to be called Marjal resorts. Their Costa Blanca resort is a big and busy holiday park with lots of facilities. It’s one for those who want to spend a fair amount of time sipping drinks by the pool in the sunshine.
The centrepiece of the resort’s facilities is the outdoor swimming pool with Aztec-themed flumes. In all, there are two indoor pools and three outdoor pools, including a splash park and poolside bar. You can also choose to relax in the spa, or get a workout in by visiting the gym. If you prefer to get your exercise outside, you can partake in games of boules, minigolf or tennis.
The only drawback is the beach is roughly 25 minutes away by car, so if you prefer to stay onsite and in pools rather than hit the coast, then this is the perfect option for you.
