IHG One Rewards Devaluation

IHG One Rewards seems to have increased the cost of award stays on many properties. The full impact of this devaluation is not clear as IHG does not have an award chart since 2019.

But from what Loyalty Lobby reports, and from a few properties that I checked, it is definitely more difficult to get outsized value for your points. This doesn’t seem to be as bad as their last devaluation in 2021.

I have IHG points valued at 0.4 cents each in my list of best credit card offers. And that is the value you should usually expect to get for your IHG points. However, you could get up to 0.7 cents per point or slightly more at several properties.

Now you can expect a value between 0.4 and 0.55 cents per point. And this is not completely unexpected.

Check your favorite IHG properties and let me know if you seen any changes in award pricing over the last few days or weeks. And if you’re still interested in the IHG One Rewards program, check out this offer for 5 Free Nights.
