Stop&Shop, Giant and Martin’s supermarkets have a promotion starting today could get you cheap or free gas, or discounts on grocery purchases. You can earn extra rewards when you purchase Vanilla Visa Gift Cards. It gets even better if you use one of the best credit cards for grocery purchases, that can earn you up to 6X back in rewards.
It has been almost two years since we last saw one of these promotions, so hopefully they are back for good. Check out the full details below.

Offer Terms
- Offer redeemed when you present your Card at checkout and will be applied to your grocery order before taxes and after all other coupons and savings are applied.
- Must use your store car to earn points.
- Offer excludes reloadable prepaid cards.
- Vanilla Visa Gift Cards are issued by TBBK Card Services Inc., Pathward, or Sutton Bank.
Using Fuel Points
For every 100 points are worth $0.10 off per gallon on your fill up of up to 20 gallons, or 30 gallons in some states. The more you can pump in one transaction, the better the deal gets. If you buy more than one gift card, you’ll obviously get more points. But you can only redeem up to 1500 points per transaction at some locations, which is $1.50 off per gallon. Some places you can use even more, up to free gas. Points can be redeemed at gas stations at these supermarkets, or participating Shell locations which can be found here.

Guru’s Wrap-up
We have seen offers for as much as 4X points on these purchases in the past. So this is not one of the best gift card deal at Stop&Shop, Giant, or Martin’s. However, it had been almost two years since they last ran the points offers for Visa or Mastercard gift cards. So it is good news that they are being offered once again.
You can use the points for savings on gas or groceries, all while also earning cashback or rewards with one of the best credit cards for grocery purchases. With a $500 gift card, you would pay a $6.95 activation fee. But you would earn up to $30 back in credit card rewards, and $10 in grocery savings at your Stop&Shop, Giant or Martin’s locations. You can save even more if you use your points for gas purchases.
Keep in mind that recently, some locations have introduced new restrictions. You will only earn points on the first Visa/Mastercard gift card purchase during the promotion period. So make sure to maximize it with a $2,000 purchase if your location has those limits. If you’re not sure, you can try a $500 purchase after that to see if you still earn points.
